About Me
“Software Engineer, Occasional Photographer, Thinker & Tinkerer
Hi, I am Macneil Fernandes. I write code, design applications, databases & I love photography.
Professional Life
I’ve been programming since High School, starting with BASIC and then moving on to C, C++, Pro*C and more recently python and GoLang. I have been designing and developing banking information systems for more than 15 years. I have recently started working on bringing my ideas to life on the iOS platform.
Photography
In April 2008, I treated myself by getting a Nikon DSLR – D80 with a 18-200mm VR1 Nikon lens and I’ve been taking pictures ever since. I love to experiment and try out new techniques. I’ve tried my hands at digital, 35mm film photography, Black and White film and medium format film photography.
I sometimes develop my own black and white prints.
There’s something new to learn every time I go photographing, be it a new composition to a new way to use available light. Being self-taught helped me learn some valuable lessons the painful, hard, torturous way and therefore, guaranteed that I never forget them. Learning never ends and I am always trying to improve myself and get good results so as to deliver the best quality in what I do.
